Humid end of the summer builds a bridge to cooler autumn. It’s time to get grounded, balanced, and connect ourselves to the earth. Welcome to practice Yin for Grounding on Thursday evening!

We need now grounding more than ever and also finding the ways to get better connected to ourselves. We need to be more rooted again.

YIN FOR THE EARTH
Slow and effective grounding yin practice activates spleen and stomach meridians by stretching the frontal body, hip flexors, legs and quadriceps.
Long held postures target to hydrate also the connective tissues and fascia. We get rooted but open and stable.
Earthy yin focuses on reconnecting to our center and balances the mind and body. Join us and learn more.

GET ROOTED
In Traditional Chinese Medicine late summer represents the Earth element, and its organs are spleen and stomach.
The belly area is considered to be our energy center. Spleen and stomach work with digestion and food to raise the good Qi-energy, and keep blood properly circulating, which tonifies and hydrates the connective tissues and nourishes the muscles.
The blockages in spleen lead to dampness, heaviness, and even lethargy. It’s essential to help the fluids and energy run freely in the body through the meridians, the pathways for Qi.

FROM WORRY TO BALANCE
Everybody knows that when we get worried and feel stressed, our stomach gets tensed, even aching. Tensed belly leads to superficial breathing, and when we are breathing only with the upper parts of the body, not using belly-breathing, our sympathetic nervous system gets activated, the heart beats quicker and activates adrenaline hormone – which causes more stress.
Mentally, the imbalance in spleen and stomach can lead to worry, anxiousness, over-thinking, and instability. We should aim to raise our calmness and insight.

Even with this short grounding yin practice you will learn to breath better, and release physical and mental tensions to more relaxed, balanced and calm you.
