HOW TO KEEP WARM AND VITAL IN WINTER?

Stay healthy, balanced and harmonized by nourishing your body, kidneys and immune system.

Winter is the time of year that is most Yin-like. Just like in the nature, winter is the time for doing less and allowing ourselves the opportunity to replenish, rejuvenate and restore. With seasonal yin we harmonize ourselves with the nature.

WATER&WINTER. In Chinese Medicine the winter is the season of the element Water, which can be cold or even icy. The organs in the Water element are the Kidneys and Urinary Bladder.
Kidneys are like our batteries, the gate of our vitality and the source of our energy. When they’re depleted we feel like we’re running in empty, and no matter how much we rest, we still feel tired.

SEASONAL YIN. With seasonal yin we can support our organs and immune system. The nourishing yin sequences can been chosen to compliment the winter theme, intended to support the immune system and vitality, which is often challenged during the winter months. By harmonizing yourself with the seasons you can stay healthier and prevent diseases, and rejuvenate and balance body and mind.

NO FEAR. The emotion of fear is related to the kidneys, when they are out of balance and when the energy is depleted. When emotions are balanced, we feel safe, trustful, alive and full of inner wisdom and willpower. We can strengthen our feelings by practicing yin yoga, mindfulness, meditation and control of your mind.

WHAT IS YIN? Yin is a slow but effective yoga practice with long held postures targeted to hips, pelvis, spine and lower body. Long postures and breath compress also connective tissues and organs. They stimulate and open the meridians, the pathways for Qi-energy, connected to the organs which let energy run freely in the body. It also helps in the path of mindfulness and self-control.
